Faithfully Wired: Using Modern Tools for Kingdom Living

July 28, 2025

Living as a Christian in the modern world doesn’t mean rejecting the advancements of society, it means using them wisely and faithfully. Technology, social media, education, and global communication can all be powerful tools for good when shaped by a biblical worldview. Paul’s example in Acts 17 shows us how he engaged with the culture of his time, using their own language and ideas to point them to Christ. In the same way, Christians today can harness modern tools not to blend in with the world, but to stand out with purpose, spreading truth, building community, and offering hope in ways that were never possible before.

Social media, for instance, can be used to share encouraging messages, Scripture, testimonies, and even simple acts of kindness that reflect God’s character. Online platforms offer access to sound teaching, worship resources, and fellowship beyond geographical boundaries. Financial tools like online giving support global missions, and digital calendars help organize our time for spiritual priorities. These tools, when used with discernment, help us redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16) and stay focused on eternal things in the middle of daily demands.

The key is intentionality, choosing not just what is convenient, but what is Christ-centered. Instead of being mastered by the pace and pull of modern life, Christians are called to be stewards of it. With wisdom and prayer, we can navigate the modern world not as passive consumers but as active ambassadors of Christ. Whether it’s through a text message of encouragement, a podcast that sharpens our faith, or a Zoom Bible study that bridges continents, we have more opportunities than ever to reflect the love of God and live out our calling in the everyday moments of a connected world.
