Be Bold, Be Different
August 4, 2025
As followers of Christ, we are called to live lives that look different from the world around us. Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This transformation is not simply about changing our behavior, but about allowing God to reshape our hearts and minds so that we reflect His character. Choosing to live this way requires boldness because it often means standing apart from what is popular or accepted.
Jesus provides the perfect example of what it looks like to live boldly and differently. He did not conform to the expectations of others, but instead lived with purpose and compassion, even when it brought criticism or rejection. In Matthew 5:16, He tells us, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” When we live boldly for Him, our actions point others to God’s goodness and truth. Our difference becomes a testimony, not a burden.
Being bold and different can feel difficult, but we are never asked to do it alone. God’s promise in Joshua 1:9 gives us confidence: “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” With His strength, we can step forward each day with courage, knowing that our boldness honors Him and our difference shines His light into a world that desperately needs to see it.
